My F100 came to me with a big, greasy pig of mid-70's turbohydromatic slushbox, and the clutch pedal removed.

I have always hated automatics, even AFTER the crushing realization that automatics are faster.(1)
But I don't care!!
The F100 is going to have a manual shift transmission.
After all, it's not a Race Truck..........

..or a wheelstander :)

So..lets get down to it.
My truck originally came with a 223 6 cylinder, and a three speed manual transmission.
1957-60 f-100's used a Hydraulic clutch setup.
All of that hardware got canned sometime in the eighties, but I'm "Bringin it Back" (Style Points).
Here's the parts list:
1) Flywheel- 400SB 11.0", 168 tooth, externally balanced ($40 from some dick on craigslist)
2) Bellhousing- 12" GM PN6263756
This is actually a truck part ('60-'72):
C-10's from something like '60-'62 used a hydraulic clutch setup with slave cylinder mounted to the bellhousing. I will try to use the same setup in conjunction with an original '58 F100 clutch master cylinder.

Also, the vast majority of Chevy musclecars used the smaller 10 5/8" flywheel/clutch setup that DOES NOT accept the 11" clutch/flywheel. The real 11" Corvette/Chevelle bellhousings will run you as much as a cruise for two to Puerto Vallarta and back. (mine is from ebay- $30)
3) Clutch- Complete 11" clutch kit from rockauto.com.
This was spec'ed for a chevy truck with 400 SB (something like $110 plus shipping)
4) Transmission- GM Saginaw 3 speed manual Transmission// PN
OK- don't laugh, this is originally from a '67-'68 Camaro, so no granny gear. I mean the truck would have still had a 3 spd back-in-the-day, right??
(again- $40 Craigslist)
5) shifter- Mr Gasket "Daytona" 3 spd truck floor Shifter.
New in box//less intructions. (ebay- $23- nuff said)
6) Hydraulic Clutch setup- Original replacement F100 Clutch master Cylinder with '60-'62 Chevy C-10 slave cylinder and C-10 clutch fork.
(LMC truck Parts again)

Tech talk:
Novak Industries also makes an adaptor plate, and complete kit- to mount a hydraulic slave cylinder to the GM #6263756 bellhousing I have:

.............................
This is genuinely a motley crue of new, used, and rebuilt and remanufactured parts-- but i think I can make it work.
Stay tuned.
(1) Scott Barnhouse said "Yep. Automatics are always faster. You just can't outshift an automatic transmission." I guess he's right.
